Grok Bot Alternative: Delegated vs Grok Bot (2026)

By Kamal Kannan

Short answer: Grok Bot and Delegated both give you AI teammates that take on real work, run routines on a schedule and keep working while you do other things. The biggest difference is who owns the setup. Grok Bot is built by xAI and runs on xAI's platform. Delegated runs your business on whichever AI you choose (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and others), so when a better or cheaper model comes out, you switch it and keep everything you've built. Delegated is also shaped around running a small business: a ready-made team with set roles, a team email inbox from day one, and, with the Founder Kit, the business tools they need.

This comparison uses what xAI publishes on x.ai/bot as of 28 October 2026. If something there has changed, tell us at kamal@delegated.to and we'll update this page.

What is Grok Bot?

Grok Bot is xAI's product for "AI teammates you can give real work to". You create Bots, give each one a job (xAI's examples include Sales Outbound, Paid Media, Expense Manager and Chief of Staff), and message them like colleagues from a Mac, Windows or iPhone app.

According to xAI:

  • Bots work on their own cloud computer. Every Bot you have shares one persistent cloud computer (files, browser and logins), so they can hand work to each other. They keep working 24/7, even when your laptop is closed.
  • They sign into your tools and use your apps and websites the way you would.
  • They learn by watching. You can show a Bot a workflow once and it saves it as a routine.
  • Pricing is part of xAI's plans: Premium at $30 a month, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200, each with weekly usage included and extra usage billed on token cost. If you already pay for an eligible xAI plan, Grok Bot is included.

It's a capable product, and if you already live in the Grok ecosystem it's a natural place to start.

What is Delegated?

Delegated gives a small business a ready-made team of seven AI employees, each with a role: Sage (executive assistant), Scout (sales), Blaze (social media), Lex (SEO), Pixel (ads), Axel (websites) and Penny (accounts). They run daily routines, talk to each other to hand off work, remember your business and come back to you when something needs your approval.

You can run Delegated two ways:

  • Delegated Desktop runs on your own Mac or Windows computer. You buy it once: $299 for one workspace, $399 for three or $499 for five.
  • Delegated Cloud gives your team its own server with its own browser, so it keeps working around the clock. It's $79 a month.

In both, your agents think with the AI plan you connect.

The real difference: who your business is tied to

When you build your operations inside an AI tool, you put a lot into it: the routines, the instructions, what it has learned about your customers, the apps it's connected to. That setup is the valuable part, and it's worth asking what it's tied to.

With Grok Bot, your setup lives on xAI's platform and runs on xAI's models. Your costs follow xAI's plans and usage pricing, and your results follow how good Grok's models are at the jobs you give them. If another company's model becomes better at writing, coding or research, using it means starting again somewhere else.

With Delegated, your business setup is separate from the AI that powers it. You connect a subscription you already have: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, a coding plan or an API key. If a better model arrives next month, you change one setting. Your team, routines, memory, inbox and connected apps all stay exactly as they are.

AI models are improving fast and prices keep moving. Being able to switch without rebuilding is, we think, the most important thing to get right when you hand real work to AI.

Built for running a small business

Grok Bot is general-purpose: you design each Bot's job yourself. Delegated starts from the jobs a small business actually needs done and gives you a team already set up for them.

  • A team email inbox from day one. Every Delegated workspace gets its own business email inbox automatically. Your team can send, receive, triage and follow up from it without needing access to your personal email. Grok Bot works by signing into your existing accounts.
  • The tools a small business runs on. With the Founder Kit your team also gets our own apps, switched on automatically: social scheduling (PandaQueue), SEO data (PandaCrawl), video editing (PandaStudio), meeting notes (Pandecho), affiliate programs (Partli), testimonials (PandaProof), private voice-to-text (PandaScribe) and the team inbox (Anjal).
  • One workspace per client. If you run an agency, each client gets its own workspace with its own team, inbox and memory, so nothing mixes between clients.

Where Grok Bot is the better choice

To be fair about it:

  • If you already pay for an eligible xAI plan, Grok Bot is included, so it costs you nothing extra to try. Delegated also needs an AI plan, so if you have none, Grok Bot's $30 plan is the cheaper start.
  • Teach-by-watching is a genuinely nice way to set up a routine.
  • It runs in the cloud by default, so it keeps working with your laptop closed. On Delegated, that's what the Cloud plan is for.

Who should choose which

Choose Grok Bot if you're happy to build on Grok for the long term, you want to design your own Bots from scratch, and you'd rather pay one monthly price that includes the AI.

Choose Delegated if you run a small business or an agency and want a team that's ready for that work on day one, with its own inbox and business tools, running on the AI you choose, and a setup you can keep no matter which AI company leads next year.
